JULIE'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS
1: As a salon manager I was responsible to encourage the product sales of the employees. Reviewing end of pay period product sales totals with each staff member, showing them where they stood in percentages compared to the rest of the staff, posting incentives or company wide sales contests. As management I also concentrated on product knowledge classes in the salon, educating the staff on features-benefits-results-primary ingredients, how to make a sale and close it. Products and education while with the company was my thing, corporate office would have me to the companies Cosmetology Academy to teach product knowledge to the students. This was always fun, a little nerve wracking being in front of a classroom of green students who thought I knew it all, now that I look back this was part of what would tone and hone me for upcoming moments in my life.
2: Later in my career, let’s say I got to taste the water for where I Am headed, in that my best friend’s mother invited me to be a guest speaker at her wellness seminar, this time I incorporate my gift of gab with an actual on stage haircutting/styling event, my presentation included before and after looks which took place backstage, then with a live model haircut presentation, where I showed my expertise in action complimented with a brief testimony of my beginning walk with God. 3: Fine Line Salon Consultants: Hair Product Sale Representative. Product sales in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, for Dallas Distributor. 4: In relation with the church applicable experience is as such. My heart extends to the poor in spirit, to a people who have no idea who God is or who have not a clue as to His true nature. In a twenty five week period I hosted a Monday Night Beach Outreach Ministry at my Home/Salon. Here is where my fourth spiritual gift (hospitality) is reflected along with the other three gifts. In this time I had a total of 85 people who were out of church come and visit and many of these attended regularly, attendance swayed from 12 to 25 a week. Although I had accompanying me the MNBOM staff, who would be there to meet and greet and lend an ear to visitors or lend a hand to me when needed, ninety five percent of the responsibilities fell on myself. Each week this informal church service was directed to people who would not walk into the church for various reasons but who wanted to be in an environment that was more on their level, to have fellowship with other people in a controlled environment, learn biblical truths, and to be inspired. Many duties came with the responsibility of overseeing such a venture, basically I was a walking martyr in the community displaying what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Each Monday I would take a few morning appointments, plan the evening menu according to what seafood item was donated, from there I would gather necessary grocery’s, go to the church fill the ice chests, set the backyard-banquet buffet style, prepare the beverages, prepare the evening message as simple as I could, nothing was to deep, the content was always simple and came by however the Lord led me, creative presentations, faith based videos, movies, biblical poems, attendee’s participation in plays or group readings it was always fun and always something different, it was a new way to play church, no heat, no pressure, no guilt, no condemnation just good ole straight up Jesus time-people time. The visitors were expectant to my reminder calls on Monday afternoons, I had a long guest list and various weeks time would be short and I couldn’t get to everyone and if I left someone out they let me know, they would even call me to find out what was on the agenda and the menu for the evening. We would start fellowship with dinner, the music was open mike, many people shared spiritual and worldly inspired music, we conducted this time as enlarge your circle of friends, ending with the evening presentation via a Monday Night Staff Person or myself. 5: Another mention to be addressed is that I am an excellent coordinator. In that I have had three successful salons start ups, in those I find it necessary to host chamber of commerce ribbon cutting parties including a hair, makeup and fashion show. These functions have always paved the way to put my business on the map in the community, they show who I am to the client, and the caliber of my work ethic. These events always bring a great buzz to the air in how exciting of an event night, in that I have really gone the extra mile for a great presentation and the parties lend to excellent write ups in the local papers (articles in the appendices). The experience is priceless yet painstaking in the workload of model searches, menu design with caterers, disc jockeys and music selection, pre-prep/cut of each models hair style, model wardrobe search and model fittings, guest lists and invitations, calendar scheduling, but the payoffs are huge. 6: While at Christ's Harbor Church (Laguna Vista, Tx) I was the Praise Peanuts Children's Choir Director. I led the Vacation Bible School music, under the theme "Army of God". I also produced, wrote, directed, choreographed and was cinematographer of a music video for the Praise Peanut Choir to the song "Oh Happy Day". The children acted and sang in this video. 7: Product representative at many Hair Style Shows introducing hairstylist to diverse hair products in a grande retail booth. Each show entailed stocking inventory for display, taking purchase orders, on site sales, and product education. 8: DMAS Dallas Makeup Artist & Stylist, Booth Representative for the membership of the association. Promoting each stylist and their creative industry, displaying art and conducting on site sales. I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!!! |
